Who Is This For?

Below are some examples of issues commonly experienced by many people that this type of coaching might address. I also list some examples of cases where coaching might be contraindicated.

Who benefits?

  • If you are struggling to achieve and sustain basic health goals, such as your ideal body weight and composition, a healthier diet, and/or obtaining healthy sleep

  • If you constantly feel physically or mentally 'flat', or low-energy, independent of caloric intake or adequate rest

  • If you feel 'lost' or aimless in life, and just don't know what to do to build a successful and meaningful future

  • If you dealing with significant life changes or events and need a sounding board that can help you collaboratively troubleshoot rather than feel you are being 'prescribed' the answer by someone who knows better than you

  • Teenagers who are having difficulty finding focus in school, sports, or life more generally

  • Athletes, business people, or others who are looking to gain a high-performance psychological edge

  • If you find it hard to believe in yourself, or you have a raging internal self-critic

  • If you struggle with self-discipline and are at the mercy of your bad habits

  • Healthcare professionals, CEOs, and other folks in high-stress jobs that are struggling to achieve optimal work-life balance

Who might not?

  • If you are or have been experiencing significant depression, anxiety, or some other diagnosable mental health condition

  • If you have been experiencing frequent thoughts of suicidal or homicidal ideation

  • If you are experiencing significant difficulties with substance abuse

  • If you are involved in relationships that are abusive or wherein your safety is threatened

  • In the above examples, it would likely be wise and expedient to seek out the appropriate form of therapy and/or medical and social support first, as these issues are not the domain of life-coaching
